However, we do get a brief glance of what they’ve been up to post-finale thanks to the above-mentioned epilogue. Sadly, we don’t see any of our favourite Fire Force characters in Soul Eater. These two chapters served as an epilogue to the Fire Force series and proved once and for all that Fire Force is a prequel to Soul Eater. There is plenty of evidence throughout the series that the two are connected but it wasn’t officially confirmed until the last two chapters of Fire Force. This bombshell would of course be the recent revelation that two of his famous works, Fire Force and Soul Eater, are connected! But before leaving the manga industry for good, (presumably), Ōkubo dropped one last bombshell on all of his readers. ![]() ![]() That’s right, as stated himself multiple times, Ōkubo is officially retiring now that his latest series, Fire Force, has come to an end. The department would not name the officers facing termination, nor provide any other biographical information, citing state privacy laws. The police union has long argued that past chiefs were given too much power to discipline officers, which opened the door to abuse. With officers increasingly opting to have their cases heard by all-civilian panels, which tend to be more lenient, Moore, Mayor Karen Bass and other top city officials have called for an overhaul of the current system.
